This Raspberry Whiskey Sour has quickly become one of our favorites, despite the practically limitless ways there are to enjoy your preferred whiskey. The slight vanilla bean flavor from the TX Whiskey mixed with the lemon and raspberry give it just the right amount of sweet and sour. (Like Sour Patch Kids, but better.)
You can throw this cocktail together so easily using so few ingredients. The typical whiskey sour contains sugar and sometimes egg white – for the adventurous type- but we like to keep things simple. The less sugar a drink has the better: sugar = hangover (amiright?!)
Here’s what you’ll need to make this TAB Original:
3 ounces whiskey (We use TX Whiskey for the best flavor)
1 ounce fresh-squeezed lemon juice
1.5 ounce Paula’s Texas Lemon
fresh muddled raspberries + some to garnish
Muddle your raspberries in the bottom of your cocktail glass. Add remaining ingredients to shaker with ice. Shake well, and strain over ice or straight into your glass. Garnish with fresh raspberries.
There you have it. Even those who are not huge fans of whiskey will love this simple sweet and sour Raspberry Whiskey Sour. Firestone and Robertson is a local Dallas distillery and we highly recommend going for a tasting if you are in the DFW area. Note: their tours sell out quick so make sure you plan ahead!
We are so excited to add our peach kombucha whiskey cocktail to the blog! A cocktail rich in antioxidants can only be good for you right? At least we think so!
This simple recipe is flavorful and refreshing, and will make you feel good about sipping it! The combination of whiskey, fruit, and kombucha come together to create a classy cocktail full of good energy. The peach mint Kombucha is sweet, tangy, and the perfect addition to a good bottle of whiskey. Buddha’s Brew is the brand we like best for making cocktails with since it has just the right balance of sweet/sour.
The best thing about this recipe is how easy it is to make. Only 3 ingredients and super fast to throw together whenever you have that whiskey craving.
4 oz buddha’s brew peach mint kombucha
2 oz whiskey (we love Eagle Rare which is definitely worth trying if you can find it)
4-6 fresh mint leaves for garnish
whiskey ice ball or cubes
In a glass combine the kombucha & whiskey then give a gentle stir with a stirring spoon. Top with an ice ball or whiskey cubes, garnish with a mint leaf (or 2) and enjoy!
We’ve got the city of Dallas in our Manhattan, literally. (The definition of serendipity, ha!) I know we aren’t the only ones who have seen people order a Manhattan in movies or tv shows and wonder what it tasted like. Right? I can’t believe with the whiskey lovers we are we have never tried one. Well, today that changed!
It’s safe to say that the Manhattan is now one of our favorite cocktails. The blend of the sweet vermouth and the bing cherries give it the taste of a cocktail without the sugar overload. So incredibly simple to make too.
2 ounces rye whiskey or bourbon (must be a rye – we used Two Stars bourbon)
1 ounce sweet vermouth
2 dashes angostura bitters
bing cherries to garnish and add in for extra flavor
Stir liquid ingredients in cocktail mixing glass with ice, like this one. Strain into your cocktail glass, and garnish with cherries. We like the Bada Bing brand cherries that we found at Total Wine.
This drink will have you feeling city-chic in 5 seconds flat, all you need to top it off is a perfect city view.
Stay Classy & Enjoy!
While we enjoy sipping a nice whiskey on the rocks – sometimes you just need a little something extra. This Vanilla Grapefruit Whiskey is a simple but delicious take on an all time favorite liquor. The vanilla bean is crisp, subtle, and perfectly balanced by the acidic fresh squeezed grapefruit juice.
We are not fans of sweet cocktails, which makes this Dry Vanilla Bean Soda a great mixer find! Re-creating this libation is simple: Pour your whiskey shot(s) in a glass with the fresh squeezed grapefruit juice [over ice], top off with the Vanilla Bean Soda – and there you have yourself a quick cocktail!
½ cup Dry Vanilla Bean Soda (or 3/4 of a can)
3 oz. whiskey (Jack Daniels is our go to)
3 tbs (or more) fresh squeezed grapefruit juice + a slice to garnish
This berry basil whiskey cocktail is one of the best whiskey drinks we have made yet. If you couldn’t tell already, one of us is a whiskey fan- so, of course we had to experiment and find a whiskey drink to compliment our whiskey roasted carrots recipe.
This cocktail is quick and easy to whip up – and, if you are not a fan of basil you can substitute it for mint or even rosemary.
1.5-3 oz of a whiskey of your choice
3-4 fresh blackberries
fresh basil (1-2 large leaves, or 2-3 small leaves. basil can be very overpowering so it is better to start with less and add more as needed)
lemon twist (thin strip of the lemon peel)
Put the berries and basil inside of your glass and smash them together with a muddler until well combined. Add in a shot (or two) of whiskey and squeeze the lemon wedge into the glass (toss after juiced). Top with Sprite, ice cubes, and lemon twist- stir to combine ingredients. For a less sweet version use club soda instead of Sprite.
